(2026) What a beautifully perfumed wine, exotic with sandalwood, incense and floral notes, rose-hip, strawberry and cherry in a fruity style, but with herbs and soft, sous-bois notes adding a caressing softness. In the mouth, medium bodied and quite charming: that red fruit, pulpy berry softness maintains, but the savoury aspects of gentle cedar and forest floor earthiness are lovely. Refined tannins and perfect balancing acidity means this is a joy to drink nine years on from vintage.
(2026) From clay and limestone soils and older vines, this opens with a creamy, slightly lactic nose, but opens further to show stone fruits and lemon, a touch of hazelnut from some barrel ageing. In the mouth good intensity here, lots more nuttiness with a ripe Cox's pippin fruit and plenty of texture. Quite an intense and flavourful white Burgundy, finishing quite long with plenty of zippy lemon freshness. Angel price is £19.99.
(2026) A straightforward but very enjoyable traditional method fizz, blending Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with a little Gamay. It spends 18 months on the lees, and the relatively high 10g/l dosage gives an impression of easy drinking sweetness. There's a touch of biscuit on the aroma and flavour, and plenty of ripe orchard fruit.
(2026) A lovely and very classic Meursault from a plot adjacent to the 1er cru Charmes and a vineyard planted in 1969. Butter and gentle, creamy, custard and ripeness, juicy apple aromas. A little floral note, something nutty, and just a hint of reductive flintiness. In the mouth quite opulent, a spangle brightness but rich fruit and nuttiness again, a shimmering oranges and lemons finish. Good concentration and length, tingling acidity on the finish.
(2026) Wonderful rich development here. Full of vivid red fruits still: incense, quite luscious, the most hedonistic of the wines here. Keen acids. Some thought this faded a little in the glass, but for me one of the magical Burgundy experiences. Probably time to drink up. Price quoted at time of review is for a more recent vintage.
(2026) A very smoky opening, a lovely floral, herbaceous edge to this, a touch of geranium leaf, dried rose petals, delightful, long, perfectly balanced.Last tasted in 2021 and scored 92 points, the wine shows a lovey resolution. Certainly drinking well now.
(2026) A bit more richness, a gentle smokiness, cherry and red fruit mixing with briar and chestnut. Quite firm, a certain gloss to this, but a strict finish that is taut with a touch of liquorice. Certainly lacks some of the charm of the Dujac, but a Gevrey in a different style. Price quoted at time of review is for a different vintage.
(2026) One of the most iconic names of Burgundy, this 14-year old wine may have been done no favours by being poured from 37.5cl bottle (which tend to age more quickly than bottles), but was still a real treat to taste. Earthy, quiet, a gentle rose-hip edge. Dry, maybe a touching drying in fact, the red fruits just hanging on in this half bottle, but actually still a lovely drink becoming quite leafy and fragrant in the finish. Price quoted at time of review is for a 75cl full bottle.
(2026) This vilage Chassagne with 10 years under its belt has a ripeness with buttered mint glimpsed on the nose, real ripeness here, the oak shrugged off to leave fine creamy apple fruit and some dried twig and leafy earthiness. Still such lovely cut and precision, that twiggy edge follows through with a very pleasing, long finish. Price quoted at time of review is for a more recent vintage.
(2026) What a lovely nose, linden flowers, a touch of hazelnut and toast. There's a herby, green edge, but not underripeness: it touches into fig and lime. The palate has a lovely balance of buttered toast, such clean and precise citrus and apple. Long and shimmering minerality. Price quoted at time of review is for a more recent vintage.
