(2026) This organic-certified white from the South of France blends Roussanne, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and with no added sulphites, it was matured on the lees in stainless steel tanks. Stone fruits and citrus on the nose also reveal a delicate white flower nuance. There is plenty of sweet fruit ripeness on the palate, making this very summery and easy to drink, touching on tropical fruit, but with the firming hand of citrus acidity into the finish.
(2026) An organic certified wine from the Languedoc, and a hillside site overlooking a meteor crater. The colour is a darker shade of still pale pink, in a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. A touch of pear drop from cold ferment gives way to bright and cheerful cherry and cranberry, a tight, red fruit aroma. The palate has a sweet creaminess of fruit, but the wine is dry, and really quite powerful with a good level of concentration and plenty of acidity to cut the generous fruit and texture. That ups its gastronomic credentials compared to some Provence sippers.
(2025) I've previously rated the zero alcohol 'BLÅ'cuvée from Copenhagen Sparkling Tea 88 points, making it quite an excpetion for a wine-substitute product, most of which rate in the low 80s at best. Lyserød is being pitched as an alternative to a rosé Champagne, with its bronzey-orangy colour and flavour derived from 11 carefully selected teas, including Silver Needle, Oolong, and Hibiscus. In this class of drinks it's another winner: lots of smoky and berry aromatics, the tang of pine or birch is in there, and on to the palate a dry, smooth and quite elegant flavour, not wine like and strangely not too tea-like, but enjoyable.
(2024) An organic certified, AOP Faugères wine from the Languedoc blending 40% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 20% Syrah grapes. From higher altitude vineyards its and attractively pale coral colour, with gentle apricot and rose-hip, a touch of watermelon. In the mouth it is dry and has plenty of acidity, a light saline character and the dry, small red berry fruit adds a little robustness to the mid-palate. Stylish.
(2019) 100% Riesling from Elgin, trained up a single pole as is common in Mosel and other parts of Germany. Beautifully clear and expressively Riesling, the florals and crunchy apple, the palate dry and mineral, but a lovely refinement. Sweet and concentrated fruit, that streaking pithy lemon acidity. Lovely wine.
